According to the United States Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, virtually all the mental health professional fields have a positive job outlook in the upcoming decade. Here at Coastal Practice Consultants, we are focused on helping clinicians start, scale, or streamline their practices. We spent 18 years developing our practices from the ground up with little to no budget, support, or business background.
We have learned a lot in these 18 years through taking risks, exploring new ideas, connecting with specialists, studying business and marketing, tons of reading and research and probably most important, making lots of mistakes! Our goal is to teach clinicians the tips, tools, and strategies to get their dream practices up and running in 3 to 6 months through one of our custom coaching packages. We want to save you time and money so you can focus on what you do best – counseling!
Although mental health professionals are often expanding their clinical knowledge and skills, we have learned over the years that most clinicians lack business, finance, or marketing skills. This has now become the foundation of our consulting work.
We offer several different consulting/coaching programs tailored to meet the individual needs of the clinicians we work with. Our Start A Group Practice coaching program is outlined below…
Build a Group Practice Package: 3 – 6 Month Programs
** These packages are for fully licensed clinicians with solo practices who are interested in starting a group practice. (i.e. Licensed Psychologists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Mental Health Counselors, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, etc)**
All programs prioritize accountability, quick action, and help you stay focused on professional goals. In addition to working on professional goals, we always include attention to self care and personal growth. Growing professionally must always align with personal growth and self care as well.
Build A Group Practice
3 Month Program
Support for those who are ready to take the leap into group practice but have not yet started. We will work with you on the following….
- Office Location: Locating, leasing, and managing office space.
- Group Model: Independent Contractors vs. W2 Employees, Contracts, hiring and firing, ideal clinicians, interview strategies, Supervision options, management styles, payroll and benefits, etc.
- Client Model: identifying ideal client for your group, specialities, networking and referrals, marketing and advertising to your target population.
- Money management: insurance credentialing or private pay fee setting, billing and claims options, money mindset obstacles.
- Practice management: phone systems, practice management software programs, filing, HIPAA compliance, payroll and payment systems, essential forms and paperwork, etc.

Includes all of the items in the 3 month program as well as:
- Advanced Marketing: Advanced marketing and advertising (i.e. website development, social media marketing, logo design, blogging, podcasting, writing and using bio’s for referral sites such as Psychology Today, etc.)
- Advances business tips and tools: (i.e incorporating P.C or PLLC options with attorney referrals, outsourcing to virtual assistants or other specialists, productivity tools, development of groups, programs, or products to enhance your practice)
- Passive Income: Exploring other income opportunities that support your ideal clients (i.e. products, online courses, groups, webinars, books, etc)
